Trigger Links

Trigger links seem like regular web links that you click on and they take you to a webpage. However, when you click on a trigger link, it does something extra behind the scenes. This comes in handy for automating stuff like adding people to campaigns or unsubscribing them from emails, making tasks easier.

Trigger links prompt an action whenever they're clicked, but they're restricted to SMS and email messages. To manage the action triggered by the link, it's essential to establish a workflow.

For example, clicking on a trigger link in an SMS might direct the person to a website's sales page. Simultaneously, behind the scenes, the trigger executes a separate action, such as automatically enrolling the individual in a promotional campaign.

How to Create a Trigger Link

Trigger links enable you to include links within SMS messages and emails, enabling you to monitor particular customer interactions and initiate events when the link is clicked.

  • Step 1: To generate a trigger link, sign in, navigate to "Marketing," and choose "Trigger Links."

  • Step 2: Next, click “Add Link” in the top-right corner of the screen.

  • Step 3: Name your trigger link so you can easily recognize what it is and what it does. Next, type the web address in the box. It can be for any webpage you want. Once done, click "Save."

How to Trigger a Workflow with a Trigger Link

To include trigger links in a workflow, pick an email or SMS in one of the workflow steps.

  • After picking SMS or email, you'll see a menu. Write your message there and choose the trigger link you want from the drop-down menu. If you've got an email or SMS with a trigger link saved, just select and use it.

Don't forget, if you're sending an email, you can link text with the trigger link. Feel free to use as many trigger links as you want in one workflow.
